Birthday Post

Tomorrow Chris turns 36. To me that sounds pretty old. Lol I know I'll get there soon. Tonight the kids have been busy making him cards and being sneaky and hanging a banner downstairs for in the morning. They love him so much. Chris is so good to help brooklyn with her homework especially math, mostly because I don't understand it... Him and Hailey share a love for running and see eye to eye when it comes to dealing with anxiety. They talk on the phone in the mornings about things they have permission to stress about and things they can't control. I appreciate his concern, love, and patience with our children. Ryan and Chris and best friends. Chris is always encouraging Ryan to do better and be better. I love watching them work together on projects, play games (monopoly), and practice baseball. Ryan wants to be just like his dad in every way.  I think it's an excellent goal. Chris is such a hard worker. Because of this we finally have our very own, in ground, pool!! Chris we love you and can't wait to celebrate you tomorrow!

First day of 6th grade

Today Brooklyn started middle school.  She had a cool new back pack and lunch box.  She had a pair of tennis shoes in her backpack to change into for her class of PE and she was wearing a cool new pair of Converse.  Grandma Nelson net us at school to help send her off on her first day.  Brooklyn worked really hard on completing summer homework for her, not so favorite book, Call of the Wild.  She listened to it and read it once by herself and once with Chris to make sure she understood it.  Brooklyn attended a "no parents allowed" middle school meet and greet.  She met new friends and met some of the teachers.  We realized that her schedule was mixed up and that she was assigned 2 classes of Spanish.  She HATES Spanish.  We got in touch with the school counselor and Sunday night @ 9 pm he sent her a brand new schedule.  She was thrilled because he had put her in dance class!  She is excited about everything middle school has to offer.  Good luck this year Brooks!

1st Day of School!

Brooklyn had her first day of school today. She is going to Somerset Academy! There were tears this morning because I curled her hair and made it look "crazy". Sorry Brooklyn I love you and I wanted you to look cute. Chris was able to take the day off and be there for this big day. He gets the Father of the Year award. Even Grandma Nelson came. She is one very loved girl. Brooklyn if you read this when you are older we all love you very much and wish you the best as you grow and learn! Here are some pictures of the morning:

Cake Time!

Last night our family had a BLAST! We all dressed in our aprons that we got for Christmas (thanks grandma and grandpa poopie) and made some yummy cupcakes and a little cake. It was so fun and the cake was delicious! When we have nights like this it just reminds me of all the reasons I love these cute kids and my husband! (Isn't Ryan cute poking up over the table with his stir stick!?!)

Mom's vacation! Part 1.

I have a great husband who let me get away for a bit. I went to Women's Conference in Provo with my mom and sister. It was a blast from the second we got together until we parted. From little people, to food, and shopping...oh and we did go to Women's Conference it was all way too much fun!We stayed in fabulous BYU housing. Natalie and I fought over who got the top, but when we saw how close it was to the ceiling it was all hers. (she hit her head when she sat up in the morning) My mom chose to stay in her own room. Smart move mom! Everyone that walked by thought we were holding the Y. We did too, but my mom taking the picture just laughed!Yes It snowed...Whatever!Oh and we stayed for the concert and rocked out and then got our CD's signed. It was fun, Mormon style! Here are the lovely ladies bright and early. What a great trip!
